Homemade Bagel Chips

I did a thing. I ordered an enormous amount of bagels from NYC and let 1/2 of them go stale. Don’t ask how this happened. Time flies, you know? I should’ve froze them upon arrival, but I didn’t. And before I knew it I was left with two dozen stale bagels. Luckily, bagel chips are best made with stale bagels…and who doesn’t love a crispy, salty bagel chip? They can be made in under 15 minutes from start to finish and store for up to 2 weeks in an airtight container or ziplock bag.

Ingredients:

3 stale bagels
1/4 cup olive oil

Instructions:

  • Slice the bagels into 1/8 inch rounds (or as thin as you can get them)
  • Line the bagel slices on a baking dish
  • Using a spoon or pastry brush, brush olive oil over each bagel slice
  • Bake for 10-15 minutes, allow to cool completely before transferring to an airtight container or ziplock bag

Serve:

These are great to snack on by themselves, or even better when dipped into hummus, tuna fish, white fish dip or pesto, just to name a few.
